Clinical Imaging Analytics has proudly provided review and analysis of x-ray, fluoroscopy, and CT/MR image data since it was founded in 2006 by John H. Harreld, Ph.D. We specialize in a detailed and comprehensive analysis of anatomic geometry and implant status for Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) clinical trials and other supporting consulting services to the biomedical device industry. By thoroughly examining the image data, we can bring you a deeper understanding of key facts regarding the safety and effectiveness of such devices.
Since 2006, we have served clients ranging from small, independent organizations to well-known international corporations that work to treat cardiovascular conditions such as aortic aneurysm, aortic valve stenosis, mitral regurgitation, venous thrombosis, arterial embolism, and even non-cardiovascular conditions such as chronic sinusitis. All these conditions can be addressed more precisely through the use of imaging and its subsequent interpretation and analysis.
About Our Founder - John H. Harreld, PhD
John H. Harreld began working in the biomedical device field in 1992 during his undergraduate studies at California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo, as a quality engineering intern and design consultant at Minimed Technologies, Inc. (now part of Medtronic). His contributions there resulted in the patent for an occlusion-releasing design for an implantable catheter (US Patent # 5,460,618 in 1995). After obtaining his doctorate in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of California, Los Angeles, he continued refining his scientific and investigative skills as a post-doctoral researcher and assistant researcher in the Chemistry Department at the University of California, Santa Barbara. There he secured funding and served as principal investigator for multiple materials development projects, resulting in two additional US patents.
John returned his focus to the biomedical device field in 2004 as a quality assurance engineer and medical imaging analyst at TriVascular and Boston Scientific – Santa Rosa. After playing a central role in the identification and root cause analysis of TriVascular’s Enovus stent fractures, John began consulting independently in 2006 and founded what is now Clinical Imaging Analytics.
